HeyOrca is an agency scheduler with client approvals. It does not produce the assets. Magic Marketer does - then publishes.

Without Magic Marketer, I probably wouldn’t be posting to social media at all.

HeyOrca is built for one job: agencies getting client sign-off on social posts without email chains. Unlimited users, approval links, a shared calendar per client. If that is your bottleneck, it is very good at it.

The reason agencies look for a HeyOrca alternative is almost always the bill. Pricing is per calendar - one per client - starting at $59 a month on Basic, and the AI tools, inbox, reports and best-time posting only arrive on Pro at $149 per calendar. Five clients on Pro is $745 a month before anyone has written a post. (The posts, you will notice, are still your job.)

Choose HeyOrca if

You run an agency, you need unlimited seats, client approval links, and a shared calendar, and someone else is already producing the content that goes into it.

Choose Magic Marketer if

You need the content itself - a machine that produces social assets fast and publishes them - not another calendar waiting on work you still have to make.

What HeyOrca does well

The approval workflow is the best in the category: clients get a link, comment on the post itself, approve or request changes, and the calendar updates. Unlimited users on every paid plan means you are never paying per seat. The Canva integration and Link in Bio are solid. For an agency whose biggest cost is chasing approvals, HeyOrca earns its keep.

Where it stops

HeyOrca does not produce the content that goes into the calendar. Your team still writes, designs and uploads every post, per client, every week - and then pays per calendar for the privilege of getting it approved. The AI features are gated to the $149 tier and are caption-level, not production-level. The per-calendar model also means a small agency with eight clients is paying enterprise money for a scheduler.

How Magic Marketer is different

Magic Marketer produces the posts. Record the client call, drop in the transcript or a link, and it returns a batch in eight formats in that client's voice, checked against their guardrails and, where relevant, their industry's compliance rules. Invite team members to draft and review. Every draft waits on Home until someone approves it. There is no HeyOrca-style client approval link.

Pricing is one Autopilot plan. Extra admins and extra brands do not cost extra, so the eighth client does not cost what the first one did.

If client approval links are the thing you cannot live without, HeyOrca still does that better. If the cost you are trying to cut is making the posts, this is the one.

Other HeyOrca alternatives worth considering

Magic Marketer is not the right fit for everyone. These are the tools we would point you to instead, and why.

  • Metricool

Up to 10 brands on a single $25/mo plan - the cheapest way for a small agency to keep scheduling and reporting.

  • Planable

The closest approvals-first competitor, with a cleaner review UI. Priced per workspace too, so check the maths.

  • Buffer

Team plan at $10/mo with approvals and permissions. Basic, but the approval flow is there.

  • GoHighLevel (GHL)

If the agency wants CRM and funnels alongside social, GHL bundles a social planner at $97/mo for 3 sub-accounts.

  • A marketing agency

Worth reading if the question is really whether to keep doing this in-house at all.

HeyOrca alternative FAQs

Does Magic Marketer have client approvals like HeyOrca?

Not the same thing. You can invite clients as team members to review the batch. There are no public approval links. If the job is the client link, keep HeyOrca. If the job is making the posts - and keeping admin and brands on one plan - this is the one.

Is HeyOrca worth $149 per calendar?

If your agency's cost is mostly approvals and you have a content team producing the posts, possibly. If the cost is producing the posts, no scheduler at any price fixes that.

What is the cheapest HeyOrca alternative for agencies?

Metricool Starter at $25/mo for up to 10 brands is hard to beat for scheduling and reporting. It has no client approval links, so you trade that for the saving.

Can Magic Marketer manage multiple clients?

Yes. Organisations can run several brand profiles, each with its own voice, guardrails, channels and weekly batch.

Approvals do not fill a calendar. Production does.
