What is a Quote Card?

A quote card is one line, typeset so it can be screenshotted and still make sense. Testimonials, takes, and the sentence you keep saying on calls all belong here.

What this format is for

What it is

The sentence, not the speech

A quote card is one line that can leave your page and still make sense. Testimonials, takes, and the thing you keep saying on calls all belong here.

It is the format people screenshot. That only works if the type is large, the line is short, and the brand is recognisable without a caption.

Use a quote card when

  • One sentence is the whole point
  • A client said something you can publish
  • You want a post that travels without the caption
  • The carousel has a line that deserves its own frame

Use another format when

  • The idea needs several beats — that is a carousel
  • You are teaching a process — that is a listicle in slides or a text post
  • The photo is the post — that is a static image
  • You need the argument attached — write the text post

Per channel

Set for the grid, readable at a glance

Quote cards land at 1:1 for the grid and 4:5 when they should fill the feed. LinkedIn, Instagram and Facebook all take the still; the caption can carry the attribution.

What good looks like

What a quote card that gets saved looks like

1

The line has to stand alone

If it only works with the caption, it is not a quote card. It is a caption with a background.

2

Type bigger than you think

People see this in a grid thumbnail. If the sentence disappears at small size, shorten it.

3

One thought, not two

Em dashes and nested clauses kill the screenshot. Cut until it is one breath.

4

Brand without clutter

Colour and type from the kit. A logo in every corner is not recognition, it is noise.

How it gets made

From the line to a card you can post

  1. 01Find the lineA call, a testimonial, a take you typed. Testimonial to Quote Card is the shortest path if a client already said it.
  2. 02Set it in the brandDesigned type, or laid over a photo you already have. Flip between the two looks.
  3. 03Write the caption around itThe card is the line. The caption is who said it, why it matters, or the rest of the thought.
  4. 04Publish as a stillInstagram, LinkedIn, Facebook, X — one file, sized per channel.
