Metricool vs Hootsuite: $25 for ten brands, or $99 a seat?

2 minutes to first post createdFree for 14 days, no card neededCancel anytime

Quick answer

Metricool for almost every small business and small agency: ten brands, real analytics and competitor tracking for $25 a month, with a usable free plan. Hootsuite only if you need a unified inbox with routing, brand monitoring and multi-step approvals for a large team, and can justify $99 per user. Neither makes the posts.

Where Metricool wins

Value, and it is not close. Starter at $25 a month covers ten brands with analytics that span organic, paid, competitors and hashtags. The free plan is usable for a single brand. For a freelancer running five clients or a business with two brands, Metricool does most of what Hootsuite does for a quarter of one Hootsuite seat.

Where Hootsuite wins

Team operations. The unified inbox with assignment and routing, brand and keyword monitoring across the web, multi-step approval workflows on Advanced, and enterprise integrations. If a comment on a Sunday has to reach the right person and be recorded, Hootsuite does that and Metricool does not.

What neither of them does

Produce the content. Metricool's AI assistant writes captions on a credit allowance from a prompt. Hootsuite's does the same without the credits. Neither knows your business or what you said on your last call. Both are tools for measuring and managing posts that were made somewhere else, and an empty calendar measured beautifully is still an empty calendar. (Metricool will chart it in four colours.)

Magic Marketer makes the posts. One source becomes eight formats in your voice, checked against your brand guardrails and compliance presets, then scheduled to nine channels at the best time for each, weekly on Autopilot. It has analytics and an inbox, but they are not the reason to buy it.

If you want to measure and manage across several brands cheaply, Metricool. If you need enterprise team operations, Hootsuite. If the posts never get made, this is the one.

Metricool vs Hootsuite FAQs

Is Metricool as good as Hootsuite?

For scheduling and analytics, yes, and often better for the money. For inbox routing, listening and team approvals, no. Most small businesses never use the features Hootsuite charges extra for.

Which is cheaper for an agency with ten clients?

Metricool Starter at $25 a month covers ten brands. Hootsuite Standard is $99 per user and ten accounts; a second team member doubles it.

Does Metricool have social listening?

No. It tracks competitor profiles and hashtags, which is different from monitoring mentions across the web. Hootsuite does listening; so does Sprout Social.

Does either tool make the posts?

No. Both have an AI caption assistant that rewrites text from a prompt. Magic Marketer produces finished posts from a recording, transcript or link and schedules them.
