V4.12Minor Release

Guardrails — your brand's rules, checked before compliance

Set your brand's own creative and copy rules and every draft is checked against them the moment it's written — before the compliance layer, and baked into how the AI writes in the first place.

V4.12 walkthrough

Great marketing isn't just compliant — it's on brand. The right number of hashtags. A clear call to action. No hype-y exclamation marks. Never naming a competitor. Those house rules are the difference between content that looks like yours and content that looks like everyone's.

Today we're launching Guardrails — your brand's own creative and copy rules, checked on every draft the moment it's written.

Where guardrails sit

Guardrails run one step earlier than compliance, so every draft clears your own standards before it ever reaches the regulatory layer:

  • Magic Marketer writes the draft
  • Guardrails check — your brand's creative and copy rules
  • Compliance check — your regulatory rules
  • The draft is shown to you

You'll see this play out live on the Create Post screen — the loading state now moves through Writing your caption → Checking your brand guardrails → Checking compliance instead of a single spinner.

Two kinds of rules

Creative

Rules about imagery, format, and design — "Always use brand colours", "Carousels must include a cover slide", "No uncaptioned video posts". These guide the look of every post.

Copy

Rules about the words — "Maximum 3 hashtags per post", "Every post must include a clear CTA in the last sentence", "No exclamation marks", "Do not mention competitor product names".

Every workspace starts with a sensible set of defaults in both lists. Edit them, remove them, or add your own in plain language — it takes seconds.

They shape the writing, not just the check

Your active rules aren't only checked after the fact — they're passed straight into the caption generator, so the AI tries to follow them while it writes. Fewer flags, better first drafts.

Warn or block, your call

Choose how strict to be when a draft breaks a guardrail:

  • Warn — the draft is shown with the flagged rule highlighted, and you can edit it or publish anyway.
  • Block — publishing is disabled until the flagged issue is resolved, the same way Block mode already works for compliance.

Where to find it

Open Brand → Guardrails, between Tone of voice and Compliance & claims. Workspace admins set the rules; the whole team writes within them.
