V4.22Minor Release

Team roles — Admin, Creator, and Collaborator

Organisation accounts now have three clear roles — Admin, Creator, and Collaborator — so you can give people the right access without overpaying for seats they don’t need.

V4.22 walkthrough

When we launched Version Four, organisations had two roles: admins who ran the company, and team members who posted for themselves. That covered the first wave of teams — but real workspaces need more nuance.

Some people need to see the whole team without connecting channels. Others should post under their own name without seeing billing. And admins still need full control.

Today the product has three kinds of team members. Here’s how they work.

Admin

Full organisation access. Admins manage billing, send invites, edit company brand settings (including Guardrails and Compliance), connect company channels, use the company inbox, and publish as the company or any teammate. Each Admin uses one paid seat.

In the UI, if you’re an admin looking at yourself, you may see the label Owner — that’s the same Admin role.

Creator

Self-scoped posting seat (what we used to call a team member). Creators connect their own channels and calendar, write and publish their own content, and edit their personal brand. They don’t see org-wide roll-ups, Team invites, or Billing. Each Creator uses one paid seat.

Invite hint: Sees only themselves · can connect profiles · uses 1 seat.

Collaborator

Free visibility seat. Collaborators can see the whole team’s drafts, calendar, library, and analytics, and view company brand settings read-only. They can’t connect channels or calendar, can’t manage billing or invites, and can’t publish as the company. Collaborators don’t use a paid seat.

Invite hint: Sees the whole team · free · no channels or calendar.

Where to invite

Admins invite people under Settings → Team. Choose Admin, Creator, or Collaborator when you send the invite. If you’re out of paid seats and you pick Admin or Creator, you’ll be prompted to add a seat (+$99/mo). Collaborators never require an extra seat.

Who should get which role?

  • Admin — marketing managers, founders, or anyone who runs the company brand and billing
  • Creator — people who need to post as themselves every week
  • Collaborator — reviewers, stakeholders, or leadership who need to see progress without a publishing seat
